The House Painting Equipments   by Trav Nort

Why someone should paint? The answer to this inquiry is just a simple one; painting can preserve as well as beautifies — wood and other materials are subject to a daily assault and destruction from the elements on the outside of your house and from constant contact with human and pet activity on the interior. The ideal manner of preventing the degradation of your house’s structure is to create a barrier or shield and this barrier to the weather we call house paint; it makes our houses, buildings, and other establishments more attractive and eye-catching to the eyes of those who see it.

If this is your first time to read about house painting, this article will tell you some simple painting supplies: First is the brush, this might be the first thing you think of when painting; you want tapered, well-secured bristles; an unvarnished handle for better handle for better grip; natural bristles for oil-based paints; Nylon bristles for water-based (latex) paints. 3″-5″ width for large jobs, narrowing for smaller jobs; always clean directly after use. Secondly are those rollers; they can be used for your big jobs; roller covers vary in nap depth and material. Lambswool can be the best as well as the polyester is the worst; use the thinner covers for glossier walls and thicker for flatter finishes; there are special rollers for trim, radiators, corners, etc. This compression roller handles can be the most durable one while wing-nut rollers are the worst. And third are the paint sprayers; help you cover a large surface area like the ceiling; covers more space using less time, paint, and money; requires a spraying rig, and some guts, but doesn’t require any brushes.

Given in here are the dos and don’ts to you will consider when you are planning your house painting projectform; Do: Unless you’re an avid and experienced do-it-yourself kind of person, consider hiring a professional contractor, exterior house painting is a complicated and physically demanding job. There is a lot of ladder climbing and hard work involved and it requires a certain degree of experience and knowledge and there are sites which offer the free articles and give you advice on all of your home renovation projects as well as a comprehensive list of highly rated, reputable contractors. Choose the correct paint to your job; Latex is a good choice because it is UV resistant and won’t fade as much as alkyd paints and it is also less likely to peel and crack. Water based latex paints can able to dry faster compared to their oil based alkyd counterparts and are easier to clean up, only requiring soap and water, whereas alkyds require solvents; check your local weather reports and avoid at all costs painting on rainy, humid or windy days. Painting on bad weather days will be detrimental to your painting project so make sure you have the appropriate tools for your project and if you are in the use of latex you’ll need the high quality synthetic brush for use on shutters, trims and other areas. Buy the correct width roller for your walls and check with your paint shop which rollers are the most suited for your house’s exterior surface; never use a paint sprayer unless you’re experienced in using them because they are very hard to use and can be very messy if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Always use eye protection and a hat when painting for safety reasons and make sure you have many absorbent rags for clean up and spills and a secure ladder is essential for exterior painting; be creative with small sections, for example a glossy red front door is trendy and fashionable. Feel free in letting your creative juices flow when the painting trims and the window sills.

Don’ts: do not cut the corners on what you are working on; using a professional contractor will ensure all prep work is done diligently; bushes, decks, flowerbeds and paved areas should be covered with drop cloths; old cracking or blistered paint should be scraped off and sanded to allow for the fresh paint to adhere to the surface properly; dust should be washed from surfaces to avoid ruining the paint job; don’t skimp on primer, primer should be used to ensure proper and even paint coverage; always choose high quality paints and never cheaper economy paints; premium paints last much longer than the cheaper variety and ensure a smoother and more professional outcome; never scrimp on the quality of paint you buy; don’t stray too far from the color schemes of your neighboring houses; your neighbors won’t appreciate wild and exotic colors; try to choose colors that blend harmoniously with your neighborhood for the most elegant look, while remaining true to your sense of personality and taste; do not get lazy as well as try to over reach to paint a larger area instead of moving the ladder and not only is it dangerous to do so, but it will also result in a poor and patchy paint job with a streaky finish; don’t start on your paint job unless you have set aside the proper time to complete it nothing looks worse than a half painted house.

At the end of your day it is up to you what you will choose regarding to house painting; so you have to choose wisely as well as diligently.
